
Increasing Usage and Retaining Customers
A client wanted to find new ways to increase spending during the holidays. Affinion Group designed a test to offer our Guaranteed Low Price protection product from November to January to a select group of customers.
During the test period, select customers could purchase an item using their card with a guarantee that would refund the difference if the item was found at a lower price post purchase. The purchasing behavior of the test group varied greatly from their control counterparts, including the following:
- Transaction activity increased 9%
- Total spend increased 13%
- 17% fewer account closings
